How many flagship phones do you think Samsung should actually be making every year?

One S series, one Note series, one Z series. (Honestly though, they could just not release gimmicky flipping/folding phones). One or two A series phones would be fine too, but the question was about flagships. My hot take: if you make five flagship phones, they aren’t all flagships. Only one has that title per generation.

funny how American people have so few options when it comes to Asia there are so many brands and because of that, every brand launches every phone with as many options as another brand has to offer. This means there has to be an option of buying a phone in every 50$ GAP. Samsung making too many phones is actually beneficial for us only.

Got it all except the S20 plus.
Honestly their new brand line-up should be Z-fold and Flip, S series with S pen, Mid tier (A or J or M lol) series and call it quits. There's galaxy S, note, M, A, J...wtf Z series, any other letters i missed? I'm a note user and i think it should merge with the S line. Samsung takes forever to update its software because there are way too many versions and hardware to account for. Setting themselves up for failure.

In the Last 10 years I have used 3 Smartphones and 3 of them are made by Samsung the my first smartphone was the orginal galaxy note i used it till 2015 then i upgraded to the galaxy A7 and on 2019 I started using a $200 galaxy M30 which is Cheap but it does the job. Please don't judge me I'm not Rich so can't afford a flagship but I'm happy with the 1 that i have right now

I just recently got an A51 and have been reading up on Samsungs lineup. I have been baffled as to why there are so many models and how could anyone possibly keep up with the amount of phones they put out. This is the exact video I needed.

This reminds me of the competition between the iPod and the MP3 players from Creative Labs. Apple had three: the iPod, Pod Mini, and iPod Nano. Having three products presents a sense of clarity and laser focus for customers who want to know the intent and purpose of a company. I don't know the specifics, but it appears that Creative spread themselves too thin and lost focus. Apple is now one of the largest companies in the universe, and Creative got delisted from NASDAQ in 2007.

Hey Deiter, If you think that's messed up in India Samsung sells M-Series, A-Series, F-Seires, S-Series, Note-Series, Z-Series I'm sure I'm missing something they launched I guess 30-40 smartphones in 2019 in India.
Samsung is actually deliberately making their line up so confusing to push people to just buy the most expensive. Because there is a natural tendency for non-tech people to think that the most expensive ones provide the best quality.
If you remove the screen, is it a phone? If you remove the microphone is it a phone? If you remove the phone, is it a phone? So many thoughtful questions...

its not price. its marketing. the more phones they release the more social media exposure they get. prices are irrelevant, specs are almost irrelevant. they could release the same phone 5 times throughout the year and give it different names and they would all sell because it is about staying on top of the youtube review videos and tech blogs, channels front page. It is not about the phones anymore.
I think they want to saturate the business that way more people will buy their phones just cause is on offer and not because they wanted a samsung phone. People that don't want to buy an iphone have so many options and since samsung makes so many maybe they just get one cause someone else told this person is a good brand.
More phones, more price differences, more choices!

Great video as always, Dieter! I agree 100%. Working at a carrier store, I’ve found that Samsungs go out a lot because there is a phone in every price range. It became immediately clear Samsung wants to dominate entry level, mid-range, premium, ultra premium and get out as many 5G devices as possible.
They just want to flood the market with junk phones
