Apple's Mac Pro is not a single product. There are no stock configurations aside from the it-has-to-start-somewhere $5,999 base setup. Customers can configure almost every Mac Pro to order, all the way up to a top spec with a 28-core Intel Xeon W processor and two AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo GPUs that hovers near $54,000. Reviewing the new Mac Pro has been an interesting challenge.

What would you use the Mac Pro for?
@Aman Agarwal edit video, photo, audio, and my normal office rendering work.
Minecraft
Browser games
Install windows

Wow. Production quality is beyond insane. I’m thoroughly impressed.
i was generally interested in this video, now i'm 2 minutes in and i now realise its the verge
Adobe and Software updates never happen. Macs seem to always have issues with Adobe, though. But, it’s the industry standard. 🙃
60hz...
just wait 1 year for the M1X mac pro with a 48-core GPU and 32-core CPU
Why 2 dual gpus when using 1 monitor?????
I just dont get why u use a imac if u dont use apple software There is no point exept if u never used windows
12:45 spec it with a nicer case and better fans. Problem solved.
Apple silicon for the Mac Pro will be INSANE
Has Verge heard about the Threadripper?
The real gains come from better optimized software when you pair it with an amazing machine such as this
*finally my MacBook was fixed successful by deztoolz on Instagram he is reliable and kind he is the best of the best*
Watch @hdtvtest video It's much more detailed
if u put lets said 500 for nice case and for high_end fans it would beat macshith
The issue with After Effects described in 4:34 is because "adaptive resolution previewing" is enabled, to turn it off click on the little rectangle with the lightening bolt at the bottom of the comp panel and turn it off.
Now don't be lazy dummies and give it to real pros: people working on proteins, simulations, astrophysics, data science, brain simulation, machine learning, real AI, economic modeling, complex systems, cryptography, data signal analysis, etc. Doing just video and photos on macs it's a meme. It's shows how many people just fall for the idea of doing drawings on vids as the most complex thing on the world.
Well, i'm happy with my Mac Pro. I got the 16-core processor as well. 96GB of ram and the new W5700X GPU. I also got 8TB SSD internal storage. I had a Mac Pro 6-core 2013 and i can tell you, my new Mac Pro screams! I of course, use Apple Apps, so that might be a reason. I use logic pro X and final cut pro x. But i also use some adobe apps like photoshop, illustrator, lightroom and dreamweaver. For me, everything is working great! I seriously wonder how The Verge's Mac Pro would be today with the software updates we got.
And we more normal users, we who aren’t pro:s, what can we do if we still need Mac? I have Mac Pro 5.1 from 2012 right now, and am in need of a new computer, if not immediately but in a year or two. I don’t have 5 999 $ over. I have no business. I guess that Apple will lose on this prices, both on pro-side and enthusiast-side.
12:45 Yeah because when buying an expensive computer to work on, you should definetly worry about looks and fan noise
12:30 This dude is a typical apple brain wash, hes hearing all the dope specs but he only worries about fan noise lol
3:27 "PRETTY MODEST RAM" 96 DAMN FN GBS OF RAM, cries in 8gb
$53,899 For a computer and people still think Apple isnt overpriced af
4:48 It pixelates when you move a frame. because your into adaptive mode in after effects. change its to full res, and your good to go..
The biggest problem with the 2013 Mac Pro was the name. It’s still a great computer but it doesn’t really work for what People consider a pro user is.
Right now, Adobe doesn't have any incentive to go faster or improve. Because no matter what, you will always pay for it and use it. You could try some other alternatives but that is either not optimized as well or you're the one using it. *sigh
Wait is this the same yt channel that made the biggest fail in computer history?
Watches this on threadripper Rig. I have come to the conclusion Apple is very good at Marketing.
Better to take Asus pro art 5k display
Hardware is 20 Yrs ahead of Software and OS Windows 10 / Mac OSX dont Use 1 TB Ram
A lot has changed. Adobe Premiere supports the Afterburner card which is a game changer for 4K, 8K, and final rendering. Also now supported in DaVinci Resolve. Primary use cases for Mac Pro are high end video, film, and audio post.
go on eBay saving @t
go on eBay big saving @t
I want this Computer. Such a beast computer. Please Apple, make this beast computer cheaper by Using ARM based CPU
I´m average user and I can´t spend thousands of dollars in a desktop computer with too many hardware resources. Actualmente I´m using a hp pavilion computer with i7 intel core processor, 6 Gb of Ram, 240 Gb SSD, 1 Tb Hard Disc, 4 Tb external HD for backups. All it running under Windows 10 Professional. The computer has 8 years and recently updated. All this cost 1400 $. Log on and log off in less 35 seconds.
Which computer murilo silva use
I've used a Zowie x BenQ monitor for 3 years now and I wouldn't change it for anything. There's so many golden products that can get what you need without having to rob yourself
yall didnt drop that 50k on that pro gear????
I can burn half the money than still get a core i9 9900ks with dual 2080ti SLI and 64GB RAM
This shows me that as a graphic designer, the mac pro 2019 would be pointless. I use a 2017 monster spec iMac at the office and my super modded 2008 mac pro for my home design machine. I still don't know what the advantage of the mac Pro could be other than churning through huge render queues personally. Maybe as the years go on, and prices go down people will scoop them up for optimised pro software
**BRUH ITS 54K FOR A CHEESE GRATER**
looks do not matter. In the world of kung fu, speed defines the winner.
technically mac OS Catalina doesn't make it as powerful if it were to run mac OS Mojave.
i would love to see a updated review to see if adobe and other software has been updated
Let me guess: three of them are video editors
Excellent video! Thank you.
Try to give this machine to nuclear physicist or astrophysicist. Simulating e.g. explosion of supernova or particle decay while hitting calorimeter may show true potential of this sweaty. Why 'creative work' is always considered to be movie or photo editing?
His windows isn’t even activated.
Wow amazing video 😍 I wish i could own it 💔💔
I hope those 6 "Pro´s" arent from the Verge.
I see Mac Pro as a nuclear device for really scientific scientists
I wait until Apple upgrades the Mac Pro with USB4 and thunderbolt 4 that support 8K video playing to external 8K HDR monitor and 8K HDR TV.
Should have added ML professionals and engineers to your review.
Literally the first honest and logical video I've ever seen on ROlabel 👌
Summary : 14:52 *”You’re welcome”*
"the hardware is way, eay ahead of the software" jaja, nice try. Switch to windows and nvidia. dont try to lie just for protect macos
I can buy two Pro monitors with my entire life savings so far. Humbling.
Mac pro.. shittiest computer you could waste your money on
I was ready to watch but I couldn't. WHERE ARE THE PEOPLE OF COLOR ON YOUR STAFF?!??!?!??!??! I know the video is about Pros using the Mac Pro, but it's a real turn off.
You could easily make a better Windows machine than that prebuilt. Bad comparison for a media group trying to report on tech.
Excellent work Verge!
Stupid review
6000 dollar and it has 256gb
No it has 1TB base
Mac pro advantage and disadvantage. The specs are way ahead of its time. But the software isn't. Don't know to be happy or sad.
wow! they were using their wacoms even for the non-drawing tasks... Here, I keep juggling btw mouse and the tab! :o
The Mac Pro REFERENCE MONITOR is cleverly designed to wobble side-to side for Uneven Table surfaces. If your desk station is not 100% level, Apple Designers Cleverly thought about you having the option to " Align Straight " your Screen. This Screen is 100% well designed . I have one in our Bollywood Production Studio
Not made for adobe. Got it
I want a 6 core mac mini for my music production.. I want a mac
Apple is the company everyone hates but buys their products. why do people complain so much
Great review.
Apple is facing problem both in CPU & GPU side . Apple won't use Nvidia GPU which is noticeably faster than the competition and the CPU market is unpredictable like never before......
Adobe go brrrrr Video in a nutshell
Not reviewing the top line of mac pro with 1.5TB of RAM and Xeon?
this was extremely useful!!! Thank you! so it would benefit if you are using logc or final cut pro, but not adobe premier xD
I rather buy a fing car than that bs
Love the new Mac Pro But I rather use the Box as a Cheese Shredder instead
This was a million times better than the Linus Tech Tips video. I love those guys but they need to chill out a little bit instead with the wacky hyperactive vibe.
Apple should release an AMD Mac Pro, that would make much more sense. The main problem of the mac pro is Intel!
If it was the 53 thousand dollar iMac you would not have a single problem lmao
So that's were my cheese grater went.
The main problem with Adobe is that it is optimised for Nvidia graphics not AMD Radeon. Well done Apple.
apple in a nutshell
great video!
4:55 -- that's not a reflection of the Mac Pro's performance but a setting in After Effects that she can turn off so that the preview window updates without using a low res proxy
that screen is so nice tho
And now adobe utilizes the gpu
In other words you did not get any one from Architecture, Engineering & Construction got it.
But does he can run crysis?
how about final cut?
As a professional freelancer I used to buy my own MacPro. It was expensive but within reasonable reach. None of the people you've showed seems to own it and that is for a reason. The Mac belong to the companies they work for... Im afraid we've been let down once more, Mac is not anymore the company for creators or "Pros" but for hired employees within a huge corporate world...Don't call it MacPro, call it MacCorporate...
Adobe is slow on Mac
Say pro again
The screen doesn’t wobble. It’s meant to turn landscape lol
A proper cheese grater review
I produce commercials for a living. While I have been using Premiere Pro now for about a year, I sometimes have to edit old FCP files. I wish their was a way to edit old 32 bit FCP on the newer OS. Still on Sierra with my 12 core older Mac Pro cheese grater.
Waste of focking money
Good video
"I was working off a server via VPN [...] I got the spinning ball often" - Shows the spinning ball on relinking missing files VIA A VPN REMOTE SERVER! WTF? Plus, you gave this computer to people that don't need that much power. You do not need that much power for Illustrator and Photoshop.
How can this joke of a site have 3mil subs? Oh, I forgot people are idiots, my bad.
seems Apple's target demographic has shifted from professionals to rich idiots and wannabe-creativetype poseurs everything about this machine just screams "mediocre"
