How much should a folding phone cost?
However much people are willing to pay for it.
Depends. Anything too cheap I question how good it is. I also realize any newer model made from a successful company will be overpriced. That being said, I just received mine and so far I love it. I am not a techie just an average 60 yr old who likes the big screen, the option of using it opened or closed and knowing that I am getting a quality product. Did I mind paying the price? Of course, but was in need of a new phone and the Z Fold fit the bill.

I have the first fold, I love it no regrets! I have dropped it many times and no problems. Had it for over a year. I love it! I'm waiting to get this second one.
I don't know what happened but I was watching a utube video on the front display and I full screened it and opened it and now when I pinch out the big display it goes full screen!!!! This just made this phone worth it i hated those huge black bars yaaaay

The problem with waiting for the 4th or 5th version of a phone such as this, is new technology will be implemented onto it making it the first of some kind of new tech. The problem is that you can never keep up with technology and by the time the price drops for this phone years from now, it won't be supported lol. So I say go for it and buy this phone and enjoy. Just don't drop it 👍🏼

So in phone form, its too thick and the screen is too thin. And in tablet form, its got a big crease down the middle and the software is kinda bad. Meanwhile you can get a really good phone and a really good tablet for around a grand. Why buy this thing?

Is this a case of “my phone is bigger than yours” ? What a waste of money! Looks bad, the fold is noticeable, seems like a beta project , a work in progress, not a finished and solid nodes. Having a mobile phone and saying “it’s good for videos” it’s a bit weird . People are buying those huge TVs and is there really a reason to have a huge phone you carry on the pocket with such a screen? I have a 10 inch tablet and I always try to watch videos on my tv ... for gaming it’s nice ... for kids who won’t have this phone at all (at least mine won’t )... for reading ok, i find that is the main reason... although aren’t those 6 plus inches phones enough ? Honestly ? Too thick, too heavy , too expensive... unnecessary phone

Ive had my galaxy fold simce launch. It's been fantastic. The only major complaint that I have is the phone deactivates my debit cards constantly because of the magnets. -_-

Those who gripe about the price of the Fold are the same people who would gripe about the price of a Bentley or a Rolex or an Armani suit. Its a luxury item, for image and prestige. You buy it to be one of the first to have one like it.

Don't look at it as $2000. If your in market for flagship device which averages $1200 to $1400 anyhow, your only justifying what is it you are getting for the extra $600 to $800? That made my ordering easier to swallow.

Honest opinion... is it worth swapping from a Note 10+? I've looked at the specs for both and both are fairly identical, reviews for the Z fold are majority of the time positive with few issues and most sound like nit picking. I love my Note and I'll probably stay with it as long as Samsung continues to produce them. But the Fold is a nice flex 😉

This version of SGS Fold is better achieved, but I see a downside to this phone, especially when the screen is displayed, it leaves a groove mark in the middle of it that is too noticeable and I don't like that, apart from its great and excessive daring price. I would rather lean towards the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. IMHO! 😉👌🏻📱💯
I got it with upgrade plus and I'm going to pay about 1/3 of the price in 12 months. Additionally I'm getting a free watch 3 as a preorder bonus. I'm going to sell it which will effectively push down the cost to 1/5 during 12 months.

I'd take a couple of guys, one using a reg phone 6 1/2" long and the second one with GFold2. Then run and see the best multi-screen solutions on both phones. Oh, a very good review.
But if you get a great deal on a trade in, it'll be worth it. My s10+ was worth $550 at best buy, making the fold 2 much cheaper. Still expensive, but not horribly bad
Eliminate the gap when closed and i'll pay $2000. Safeguarding the plastic top layer is the most important consideration next to battery life(not 2 selfie cameras). I think they've got a winner. It looks polished and well-engineered. I wish Apple was the company it used to be, where they'd they be the one's to create this. They execute well but no more cutting edge. It use to be a thrill to see what they cooked up next. I don't think they are worth their valuation and I own stock.

Should you buy it... NO. Are you kidding, it's the most innovative phone since the iPhone One and of course the price is going to be high, there isn't a decent competitor in this category yet. Use the phone for a week and then tell me you wouldn't buy it!
2k for a phone is too much but ngl, Samsung is really killing it with the pre-order bonuses/trade in program. Traded in my s20 ultra, got a student discount, sold an old iPhone. ended up paying 900$ for it. wasn't planning on getting one but for 900$, which is still A LOT A LOT of money, isn't that terrible for something so innovative. edit: the pre-order bonuses ended last night but trade ins are still there and hasn't changed.
Can't really see a price drop.....unless they launch a "lite" version with a sluggish processor and mediocre cameras, which won't really be a good purchase either. So, just like the communicators of old, only the rich businessmen or extravagant techies are the target segment for this phone :(

I've just decided to stay on AT&T next that way I don't feel bad trading in phones every year. Decision came down to Note 20 Ultra or Fold 2. Figured I would check out the folding scene.
The main display is not made out of glass, you can believe what you want but you can’t scratch glass with your fingernail and this phone you can.
